Shared ingredient suppliers have been identified as origins pollute Two separate babies behind her Formula recall this month.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) confirmed its ongoing investigation had uncovered contamination, which resulted in nestle SMA and Danone Aptamil recalls that this stemmed from a single third-party provider.

UK Food Safety Authority incident manager Judy Wild said: “Ongoing investigations have found that the contamination originated from a shared third-party ingredient supplier.

“As a result of these investigations, Danone is recalling a batch of Aptamil products due to the presence of celiacic acid.

“If further recalls are necessary, we will communicate immediately.

“If you have any of the affected products, please discontinue use as soon as possible and switch to an alternative formulation.

“If formula was prescribed by a health professional, consult a pharmacist or other medical professional before switching.

“If you have given it to your baby and are concerned, contact your GP or NHS 111 for advice.

“We encourage parents to sign up to our food alerts on food.gov.uk to stay informed.”

The FSA is urgently working with manufacturers to trace all products that may use ingredients from this supplier and ensure that all affected products are removed from sale.

It is also working with the UK Health and Safety Agency (UKHSA), local authorities and industry to conduct sampling where appropriate and will update when results are ready.

This alert relates to batch 31-10-2026 of Aptamil First infant formula 800g, with a best before date of 31 October 2026.

On January 6, Nestlé recalled some infant formula products due to concerns that they may also contain alginic acid.

It added that the issue was caused by ingredients supplied by a leading supplier.

Nestlé products affected by the recall include SMA Advanced First Infant Milk, SMA Advanced Follow-on Milk, SMA Anti Reflux, SMA Alfamino, SMA First Infant Milk, SMA Little Steps First Infant Milk, SMA Comfort and SMA Lactose Free.
