Mikel Arteta Already revealed Kai Havertz He is “very close” to a full recovery after an injury outbreak sparked fears the striker could be sidelined again.
Havertz missed the first half of the season with a serious knee problem but returned to action at the start of the year, with concerns over his long-term health remaining.
The Germany international also underwent surgery to repair a torn hamstring last February, but Arteta remains confident Havertz is close to completing his recovery and putting his knee problems behind him.
“He was very close,” Arteta said ahead of this Sunday’s visit to Manchester United, the opposite of Havertz’s last game.
“Obviously he’s been out for a long time for different reasons, almost a year, and now we have to manage the load in a very smart way and I’m sure in the next few weeks he will be available.
“It’s great that we have him, we can use him in different positions and you’ll see him in different positions and we’re really happy to have him.”
