On Wednesday (January 21), the heavy-duty icebreaker USCGC Mackinaw successfully rescued the motor vessel M/V Wilfred Sykes from the thick ice of Lake Huron.

After the cargo ship became loose, coast guard Speedboats escorted them to the Straits of Mackinac, allowing them to cross great lakes continue.
