British rider Phil Hanson signs multi-year deal ferrari As a factory driver.
The 26-year-old won endurance racing’s most prestigious event, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, last year as part of the private AF Corse team alongside former F1 drivers Robert Kubica and Chinese driver Ye Yifei.
The trio finished second in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) behind ferrari team, Hansen will now take on the additional responsibility of representing the famous Prancing Horse brand in endurance competitions around the world.
“I am extremely proud to join Ferrari as an official factory driver and continue my journey in the FIA World Endurance Championship,” he said.
“I grew up idolizing Ferrari, but it wasn’t until working alongside them in 2025 that I began to appreciate the team’s relentless pursuit of victory.
“I’m honored to be able to build on the success of last season, but most importantly to be part of the Prancing Horse family.”
Hansen has won numerous championships in sports car racing, including European Le Mans Series LMP2 and Asian Le Mans Series LMP2.
Antonello Coletta, Ferrari’s Global Head of Endurance, added: “Phil has had a successful season with AF Corse, not only winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the number 83 499P, but also showing consistency and excellence throughout the championship, finishing second in the Drivers’ World Championship standings with his teammates, Phil has earned the full trust of Ferrari.
“We are therefore delighted to welcome him to our family as part of the official driver team and are confident that the journey we are about to embark on will continue to be a success, just as it will be in the 2025 season.”
The 2026 WEC season will kick off on March 28 with the 1812km race in Qatar.
