Like all Simba mattresses, this hybrid luxury mattress roll arrives in a box. Although it was a lot of work, I managed to hoist the mattress onto the bed and leave it there for a few hours to increase to its original size.
My first impression after opening the mattress was its impressive height, which is 31 cm. I tried it out in the double size and found that the standard sheet felt a little snug, but on the other hand, the depth of the mattress immediately made the Hybrid Luxury Bed look sturdy when placed on the bed frame. I love the grandeur it adds to my sleeping space and think that reflects the premium point too.

There’s no doubt that the Simba Hybrid luxe mattress looks sturdy and durable. What is the reason? It has up to nine layers, including a foam base element made from recycled fibers, which is a new addition compared to previous versions. This updated layer sits directly above the supportive gray base and was created with minimal foam waste in mind.
Meanwhile, its other components include layers of bamboo and wool, materials known for providing temperature regulation. Therefore, they help keep you comfortable during the winter and cool during the warmer months. It sits on top of an open-cell foam section, and both layers provide breathability, which is often lacking in standard memory foam mattresses.
Underneath that, there are three layers of luxury springs for support (two layers of titanium springs, plus another layer of micro springs) and an additional layer of foam. The clever positioning of these springs means they don’t get bogged down when you roll over in bed, but they do contribute to the overall level of firmness and support.
The mattress features an anti-allergenic cover and a quilted design that is ultra-soft to the touch and provides ultimate comfort without squishing. It’s worth mentioning that the top cover can be removed for cleaning, so you can keep it nice and clean too. However, it is not suitable for tumble drying or ironing.
Comfortable
The Hybrid Luxury Mattress hits the sweet spot between medium comfort and firm support—while it’s firmer than other mattresses I’ve tried before, it doesn’t feel too firm, and the foam layer means it has a sensitive surface. There is a bit of movement delivered, however. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s something to think about if you have a particularly anxious partner.
In addition to appreciating its luxurious depth, I also found that the breathable and temperature-regulating materials used in this mattress made sleeping feel fresh. I never had an issue with overheating while sleeping on the Simba Hybrid luxe, and while the surface doesn’t stay completely cool, it doesn’t retain your body heat, which is a significant improvement over some other foam mattresses I’ve tried.
Plus, it made a noticeable difference to my back and hips, which were well supported while lying on the bed. Because of this, I think this is an especially good mattress for back and side sleepers.

While I noticed a slight dip when I initially laid on the mattress, it was a welcome and subtle element rather than an annoying sag, as the combination of layers simultaneously maintains a level of firmness. After a full year of sleeping on it, it still feels solidly supportive.
Throughout my testing, I found this mattress to be very comfortable and supportive. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the Simba Hybrid Luxury Mattress has transformed my sleep, making me more relaxed at bedtime.
