Want more legroom when flying? worldwide airline The world’s best economy class seats have just been revealed.
For the sixth consecutive year, skytruxAirline of the Year Awards crowned Japan Airlines (JA) is the standard seat king.
The awards body judges the best in the sky based on factors such as design, seat pitch and headrest comfort.
Seat pitch on an airplane refers to the distance between two rows of seats (essentially legroom), and most cabins typically have a seat pitch of 30 to 32 inches.
Economy class seats on JA flights feature 34 inches (86 centimeters) of pitch, a 13-inch 4K screen, fully adjustable headrests, power outlets and cup holders, as well as standard seat pockets and storage space for personal items.
The seats are arranged in a 2-4-2 layout instead of the standard 9 seats, giving an extra 5cm of space.
British passengers can experience the cabin for themselves on JAL flights from London Heathrow to Tokyo, Osaka and Hiroshima.
Ranked second and third are Cathay Pacific They are Airline and Korean Air respectively.
The World Airline Awards were launched by Skytrax in 1999 as a customer satisfaction study.
According to Skytrax, the “Oscars of the Aviation Industry” determine the winners through votes from travelers from around the world.
In other categories, Cathay Pacific won the best overall economy airline for 2025, followed by Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines.
In terms of in-flight catering, EVA Air ranks first in in-flight catering, with Saudi Arabian Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Emirates Airlines All in the top 10.
