A politician is India Spent a day working as a delivery driver to draw attention to the working conditions of gig economy workers.
On Monday (January 12), Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha donned a yellow Blinkit uniform and then helped collect and transport goods.
Just days ago, he joined gig workers in a nationwide strike demanding better working conditions, wages and legislative protections.
Chadha said workers faced “systemic exploitation hidden behind apps and algorithms” on social media, with workers complaining that some demands for items to be delivered within 10 minutes put pressure on them and jeopardized their safety.
