Ajit Kabayel returns to action this weekend after an almost year-long absence and will fight on home soil as he aims to secure a long-awaited world title.

Kabayel will face Poland’s Damian Kniba in an undefeated heavyweight showdown in the German city of Oberhausen, but there is no doubt that Kabayel is the focus of the event.

The 33-year-old has three wins since the end of 2023: wins over Arslanbek Mahmudov, Frank Sanchez and Zhang Zhilei, establishing himself as a true contender in the division. Cabayer stopped all three, with a victory over Zhang standing out to move the German closer to the world title.

However, this result came 11 months ago and Cabayel needs to regain motivation to stay involved in discussions for a possible fight with the champion Alexander Usyk and Fabio Wadley.

That’s all you need to know.

When will the war begin?

The match between Kabayel and Knyba will take place on Saturday, January 10 at the Rudolf Weber Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. The main event is set to start at 7pm GMT (11am PT/1pm CT/2pm ET), with the main event ring set to begin at around 9.45pm GMT (1.45pm GMT/3.45pm CT/4.45pm ET).

How can I watch it?

The event will be broadcast live exclusively to DAZN subscribers, with the exception of Germany, where it will be available on DAZN pay-per-view. You can purchase a DAZN subscription hereplans start at £14.99 per month.
