Jennifer Marshall played Max Mayfield’s mother Susan in the show’s second and fourth seasons Netflix exhibit. She said her condition went into remission during the filming of the final season, which could have helped her get health insurance from the union if she was included.

Marshall publicly announced in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stage three cancer.

“Maybe they have too many characters, I don’t know, but Susan Hargrove is clearly the worst mother ever,” Marshall wrote on Instagram on Tuesday (January 6). He added in a comment on Facebook that being included “could help me pay some of my cancer bills.”
