BYD will continue to expand into the UK this year, starting with the Sealion 5 DM-i plug-in hybrid, with more models to follow later in the year.
Back to Land Rover, we should finally see its first all-electric model with Land Rover Range Rover Electric Vehicle. I’ve experienced it in pre-production drives, and it’s everything you’d expect: luxurious, quiet, powerful and still capable off-road.
On the other side of the Jaguar Land Rover fence, the long-awaited new Jaguar GT (should it be called the Type 01, Continuation of Type 00 concept? ). i have Have seen the car Set to be unveiled this summer, there’s even a ride inside. I think the car itself will be good enough to rival other luxury brands in the UK – whether the Jaguar brand will be another matter.

Bentley isn’t standing still when it comes to electrification, either. It already offers a strong plug-in hybrid lineup, but its first fully electric vehicle – Known as a “luxury city SUV” – will also break cover this year.
It’s not all luxury, though. There will be a slew of more affordable electric cars, led by Volkswagen Group. Its range of small cars was previewed at last year’s Munich Motor Show, and the first to emerge from the woods in 2026 could be laval copper. new Volkswagen ID.Polo – heralding the brand’s new naming strategy – will also follow Skoda Epiqa small SUV that conveys the spirit of the much-missed Skoda Yeti.
a new one Nissan Mikra Also set to go on sale, another UK-made Nissan electric car – the new Nissan Qashqai – will likely be revealed before the end of the year. The Micra has a lot in common with Renault, which will launch its excellent all-electric 5 and 4 models this year, as well as a new Renault Wingowhich I previewed last year.
Renault’s sports high-end brand and F1 team Alpine will own Alpine A390 There are family models in the showrooms too, and the all-electric successor to the A110 sports car is likely to be one of the highlights of this year’s Paris Motor Show.

Now Mitsubishi is back and launching All-new Outlander PHEV Arriving this summer.
This is truly just the tip of the iceberg as far as newcomers go. Expect more new cars and brands, especially from China, often with little warning.
What we do know is that the government’s Electric vehicle grant This is likely to remain unchanged throughout the year, with discounts of £1,500 or £3,750 available on eligible models and further reductions in costs. talk Electric cars penny per mile road charging It’s unlikely to become a reality for at least the next two years, but who knows what other incentives or curveballs may arise – after all, few expect the grant program to return in 2025.
Of course, if you run any electric vehicle, I would always recommend switching to a suitable low-rate electricity charger. If you don’t have on-street parking, it’s also worth subscribing to one or more public charging apps to help keep costs down.
