Anthony Joshua’s promoter gives update on his recovery after crash
British boxer Anthony Joshua will stay in Nigeria to recover from injuries suffered in a fatal accident.
A vehicle carrying the former heavyweight champion and two of his colleagues hit a stationary truck On Monday, on a main road, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, connecting Ogun State and Lagos.
Two colleagues, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, were killed.
“Anthony was reportedly discharged from the hospital last night and will remain in Nigeria for the next few days,” his promoter Matchroom Boxing told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Anthony Joshua’s friends confirm two casualties in fatal crash, boxer injured
Anthony Joshua’s friends have been identified as two of the casualties in a car crash in Nigeria that left the heavyweight boxer with minor injuries.
Joshua, a passenger in the incident, was rushed to hospital following a crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which was immediately confirmed to have killed two people. It was not until later in the day that reports emerged that the two casualties were Joshua’s personal trainer Latif “Lazi” Ayodele and strength coach Sina Gami.
Joshua’s promotional company, Matchroom, and his agency, 258 MGT, confirmed the rumors on Monday night.
