In Trump’s latest attack on windmills, more accurately known as wind turbines, he shared a photo to the Truth social site on Tuesday of a bird lying on the ground in front of several energy producers and wrote: “Windmills are killing all our beautiful condors!”

But as multiple media outlets pointed out, the photo is of a falcon, not a vulture, and was taken in Israel in 2017. The photo was shared in an Israeli newspaper haaretz 2017 and times of israel 2022.

The Department of Energy even shared Trump’s social media posts. independent The agency has been contacted to ask if it knows the origin of the photo.

In the first year of his second term, Trump’s regulators sought to revoke permits for six offshore wind projects along the East Coast and halted construction on two others. Politico reported earlier this month.

Trump lashed out at renewable energy in a speech to the United Nations General Assembly in September.

“They’re a joke. They don’t work. They’re too expensive. They’re not strong enough to start the factories you need to make your country great,” Trump said, calling the wind turbines “too pathetic, too bad, too expensive to operate.”
