Early goals come from Joelinton and Yoane Wissa set Newcastle They are heading for their second away win of the season Premier League They postponed the fighting season burnley Turf Swamp 3-1.

Joelinton’s first Premier League goal in 365 days gave the Magpies the lead just 65 seconds into the game and Visa marked his first league start for the Magpies six minutes later.

Josh Laurent dragged Burnley back in the relegation battle in the 23rd minute but they had previously failed to equalize despite a series of second-half chances Bruno Guimarães In injury time, Burnley were winless in 10 games and were 6 points behind safety.

For Newcastle, it was a first away win since 2017 They beat Everton 4-1 November 29, but it wasn’t entirely convincing as Burnley dominated the second half before adding a third goal.

Burnley were forced to be more aggressive due to a poor start. Anthony Gordon broke away from the left and sent in a low cross, which Joelinton easily got in front of Hjalmar Ekdal to score.

The second goal was scrappy. Gordon’s pass was intercepted but Joelinton stole the ball from Maxime Esteve. Harvey Barnes’ shot was blocked but Visa headed the ball away for his second, with Burnley vainly arguing that Guimarães had unfairly pushed Laurent away.

Burnley’s troubles were getting worse. Esteve, who had missed two games, was injured and came off with 13 minutes left in the game.

The game was over given the Clarets’ woes in front of goal this season, but Newcastle have a terrible habit of dropping points from winning positions and have not kept a clean sheet since November 5. Soon they opened the door for their owners.

Lucas Pires’ shot was blocked but he sent in a curling cross that Armando Broja passed to Laurent, who fired past Nick Pope, who was returning from injury.

Newcastle should have quickly restored their two-goal cushion, but Visa inexplicably headed wide at the back post while unmarked. A poor header from Ekdal sent the Congolese forward again, but his shot went wide from a tight angle.

Next came Guimarães who sent on Barnes, but Martin Dubravka made a save to deny his former club.

Marcus Edwards saw Fabian Schaal blast the ball over the line at the end of the first half, setting the tone for Burnley’s attack in the second half.

Loum Tchaouna quickly ended the attack with a straight shot towards Pope. From the next break, the goalkeeper kicked Edwards’ shot away.

Pope then stepped back to deflect Lucas Pires’ cross but was already beaten when Laurent’s curling header hit the crossbar. Chauna wasted his next chance when he headed wide at the back post.

Few saw Newcastle attacking in the opposite direction, but Malick Thiaw’s header from a 77th-minute corner was deflected off the line by Bashir Humphreys. Seconds later, substitute Jacob Murphy scored.

When the third goal came, it was a gift. There was confusion between Ekdal and Dubravka, and Guimarães finished from 25 yards.
