Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele and Sina Ghami, both long-time friends of Joshua, 36, died from injuries sustained in the accident on Monday (December 29). Joshua and the other passenger are in “stable” condition in hospital.
“It’s a stark reminder, but people have to start paying attention when they’re behind the wheel of a vehicle,” Fury said.
He urged people not to drink or take drugs before driving because “that’s when you’re most vulnerable”. He then clarified: “I’m not saying any of these boys did it.”
No drugs or alcohol are believed to have been found at the crash site.
Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Corps said speeding and overtaking may be to blame and a full investigation is underway.
