Her sister Marie-Jeanne Bardot, also known as Mijanou, shared a poignant post on Facebook with a photo of Brigitte when she was 12, along with a message honoring “the person I admired most.”
Mihanu expressed hope that Bardot now “knows if our beloved pets are waiting for us on the other side. Let her not be afraid and let her bask in the love and joy of being reunited with them.”

After news of Bardot’s death broke, Marin praised her as “an outstanding woman.” “A woman chose to give up an incredible career to devote herself to the animals she defended with endless energy and love until her last breath,” the disgraced politician wrote. “She was incredibly French: free, untamed, whole. We will miss her terribly.”
