Veteran actor Warwick Davis, best known for his iconic roles in the Star Wars and Harry Potter series, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year Honors list.
The 55-year-old was recognized for his wide-ranging contribution to theater and charity.
This latest honor follows his receipt of the BAFTA Fellowship, BAFTA’s highest honor, in February, which recognizes his acting and promotional work.
“This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me since I’ve been on Star Wars,” Davis said while accepting the BAFTA award.
In an emotional ceremony, he dedicated the award to his late wife, Samantha, who died in March 2024.
In 2012, the couple co-founded Little People UK, a charity dedicated to supporting people with dwarfism and their families.
Reflecting on her death, Davis said that “life has been very difficult” since her death, adding that “she was always very supportive of my career and encouraged me to seize every opportunity with both hands.”
Born with congenital spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia, Davis began his illustrious career at just 11 years old, playing Wicket in The Ewoks Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
His diverse filmography includes roles in: maze With David Bowie, hero of Ron Howard’s fantasy adventure willowand appeared on the BBC program The Chronicles of Narnia adapt.
He has also appeared in jack the giant slayerthis goblin series, and a collaboration with Ricky Gervais Additional features and BBC documentaries life is too short.

As well as acting, Davies also hosts ITV’s quiz show tenabledubbing a character in the play Moominvalley TV series, and founded Willow Management, an agency that represents actors under 5 feet tall and over 7 feet tall.
