A mother and her two children were killed in an accident fire Their home was destroyed in the early hours of Boxing Day.

He said: “They were unable to get into the back bedroom because of the intensity of the fire.
“The father smashed his way out of the house through the bathroom window and tried to gain access to the children’s bedroom from the outside.
“He was unable to enter the house through the bedroom window.
“He then tried to re-enter the house through the bathroom window, which by then was on fire and he was unable to get back to the upstairs bedroom.
“He then went downstairs and tried to force his way in through the front and back doors but was unable to get back into the house.
“At this time our emergency services colleagues attended and began managing and dealing with the fire.”
Mr Fletcher said the fire was believed to have started on the ground floor and investigations were ongoing to determine the cause but it was not being treated as suspicious.
The severity of the fire caused the roof of the terraced stone house in the central Cotswolds to collapse, as well as the ceiling and stairs.
The body of a woman in her forties was found inside the house, and the body of a child was also found at the scene.
“We are not treating this as suspicious at this time,” Fletcher said.
“This appears to be a tragic accident that occurred in the early hours of Boxing Day.
