Gabriel’s absence since November 8 ends after coming off the bench 2-1 winthanks to own goals from Martin Odegaard and Georginio Root.
Here’s the latest injury news from Arteta ahead of Tuesday night’s top-flight clash with Aston Villa:
Ricardo Calafioli
“There’s something about Ricci too, very, very strange,” Arteta said after exiting the Italians’ warm-up game ahead of their game against Brighton.
“That’s how he felt yesterday, something very embarrassing happened and today in the warm-up he felt uncomfortable.”

Arteta said he had “an awkward landing” but gave no further clarification, suggesting the issue could at least affect his game against Villa.
Kai Havertz
The German is set to return after picking up a knee injury at Manchester United.
“It was very close,” Arteta said ahead of the game against Brighton. “I think it’s going to be a matter of days, not weeks. Let’s see how he responds.”
“But he’s a player that we miss a lot, a player who brings the team to a different dimension. So, I’m really happy to have him back soon.”
Gabriel Magalath
“There’s also good news, for example, we got Gabi earlier than expected, which is great,” Arteta said after the win over Brighton, with the Brazilian returning after seven weeks out with a hamstring injury.
“The medical staff, I think they did an incredible job as well in the way that he pushed himself and that’s what we needed because we lost one guy but we got another guy back.”
A start against Aston Villa will be the next target.
Gabriel Martinelli
Gabriel Martinelli was forced off against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup but came on as a substitute against Brighton after Arteta branded his problem “more of a blow”.
Now a contender to start against Villa.
Ben White
Ben White missed the game against Wolves on December 13 with a hamstring injury.
“He’s progressing well,” Arteta said last week. “It’s not a major injury but it’s going to keep him out for a few games. I don’t think it’s going to be [major]. Ben is also a very fast healer, so we expect him to be available in the next few games. “
Christian Mosquera
Christian Mosquera’s ankle injury has been described as “complicated” by Arteta.
“Unfortunately he will be out for a few weeks, a lot more than we expected,” Arteta said at the start of December. “But the players have felt it.”
Max Dowman
Another long-term absentee, Max Daumann, is dealing with an ankle ligament injury suffered in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Manchester United.
No surgery is required but Arteta said: “Unfortunately Max got injured last weekend and he had to come off so we did some scans and he will be out for a few weeks.”
