Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said 2025 was a proud milestone for India as he highlighted Operation Sindoor, saying it became a symbol of pride for every Indian and showed the world that the country does not compromise on its security.

Addressing his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address for the last time in 2025, Modi said the country’s influence is visible everywhere in the last year.

He said, “2025 was a year of proud milestones for India. Be it national security, sports, scientific innovation or the world’s biggest stage, India’s influence was visible everywhere.”

The Prime Minister said that during Operation Sindoor, images of love and devotion towards ‘Maa Bharati’ (Mother India) emerged from every corner of the country and people expressed their feelings and gratitude in their unique ways.

He said, “Operation Sindoor became a symbol of pride for every Indian. The world clearly saw that today’s India does not compromise on its security.”

India launched precision strikes under Operation Sindoor on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan on 7 May in response to the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people.

India and Pakistan reached an agreement on 10 May to end the military confrontation.

Modi said the same sentiment was seen on the completion of 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’.

“I had urged you to share your messages and suggestions using the hashtag ‘#VandeMataram150’ and our fellow citizens participated in the campaign with great enthusiasm,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that 2025 has indeed been a memorable year for sports, with the men’s cricket team winning the ICC Champions Trophy and the women’s cricket team winning the World Cup for the first time.

Apart from this, India’s daughters created history by winning the Women’s Blind T20 World Cup.

He said, the tricolor flew high proudly after the spectacular victory in the Asia Cup T20 and the para-athletes won a lot of medals in the World Championships. Modi also said that India has made great leaps in the field of science and space and Shubhanshu Shukla became the first Indian to reach the International Space Station.

He said, today the world is looking towards India with great hope and the biggest reason for this hope is the youth power of the country.

“Countries around the world are deeply impressed by our achievements in science, continuous innovations and expansion of technology,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that the number of leopards in India will exceed 30 in 2025.

Noting the various events organized during the year, he said that faith, culture and India’s unique heritage all come together in 2025.

“The Prayagraj Mahakumbh held at the beginning of the year took the entire world by surprise. At the end of the year, the ‘flag hoisting’ ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya filled every Indian with pride,” he said.

Modi said the enthusiasm for ‘Swadeshi’ is also evident among everyone and people are buying only those goods which have the sweat of an Indian and the fragrance of Indian soil.

He said, “Today we can proudly say that 2025 has given India even more confidence. It is also true that this year we had to face natural disasters at many places. Now the country is ready to move forward in 2026 with new hopes and new resolutions.”
