one long island Man arrested for stabbing 23-year-old man CVS employees at Christmas.
John Pilaccio, 43, of Lindenhurst, was charged with second-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed Edeedson Cine of West Babylon in the chest about an hour before the store closed, Suffolk County police said Friday.
Police responded to the CVS store at 20 E. Montauk Road in Lindenhurst just before 7 p.m. Thursday. The suspect initially fled the scene on foot and Sheen was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.
Police Chief Kevin Catalina said Friday that Piracio was identified as the suspect based on witness accounts and surveillance video outside the store.
Katarina added: “It appears the poor child went to work on Christmas Day and was attacked while working behind the counter in the shop.”
Cine had worked at the store for about 10 months, according to police and CVS representatives. Investigators have not revealed what led to the stabbing or whether the suspect and victim knew each other. Piracio was taken into custody later that day and is scheduled to stand trial on Saturday.
“We are shocked by the tragic stabbing that occurred inside our store on East Montauk Highway on Christmas night,” a CVS spokesperson said in a statement. “Edeedson Cine was a valued member of the store team known for his strong work ethic – all of us will be saddened by his loss.”

“He goes above and beyond. If you need something, he responds to you,” customer Margaret Reichling said. “He’s always been a kind, well-mannered kid.”
