Liz Truss is once again under scrutiny for her policy decisions, but this time it’s her approach to Christmas dinner that’s causing consternation.
The former Prime Minister revealed she didn’t put the British festive staple on her plate on Christmas Day because it should never be mixed with turkey, calling the popular combination “wrong”.
Chatting with Nick Ferrari LBBCTruss, who grew up in Leeds, admits that Yorkshire puddings are not part of her traditional Christmas dinner because they can only be eaten with beef, not turkey.
“There’s no Yorkshire. I don’t believe it’s going to be like this at Christmas,” she told Ferrari.
In a row over Christmas dinner between progressives and those taking a more traditional approach to Yorkshire, a user on X posted: “This is the smartest thing I’ve ever heard her say.”
