Silvestri Sweets Inc. initially issued a on voluntary recall Two different varieties of its Chaussure-branded Holiday Bark – Cookie Butter and Pecan, Cranberry and cinnamon — according to a report published by the FDA earlier this month.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the packaging was adulterated, as Cookie Butter Holiday Bark was placed in Pecan, Cranberry and Cinnamon packaging and vice versa. This means Cookie Butter Holiday Bark may contain undeclared pecans, and other barks may contain undeclared wheat, which may pose a risk of “severe or life-threatening allergic reactions” to people with allergies or sensitivities.
However, according to a Dec. 22 report published by the FDA, Silvestri Sweets Inc. has now expanded its recall, recalling five-ounce bags of Chaucer-branded Holiday Bark due to undeclared allergens. This recall is also due to the risk of undeclared wheat in Pecan, Cranberry and Cinnamon Holiday Bark and undeclared pecans in Cookie Butter Holiday Bark.
The latest batch of recalled Cookie Butter Holiday Barks can be identified by lot code 28525, which has a best buy date of May 2026. The second bag has a lot code 29925 and a best buy date of May 2026, while the third bag has a lot code 30625 and a best buy date of June 2026.
For the recalled pecan, cranberry and cinnamon holiday barks, the bags can be identified by lot codes 28525 or 29925, both of which have Best Buy dates of August 2026. The other bags have lot code 30625, which has a best buy date of September 2026.
These affected packages are in addition to the packages included in the initial recall, which include Cookie Butter Holiday Barks with lot number 29225 and a best buy date of 5/2026 and Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Barks with lot number 29225 and a best buy date of 08/2026.
The affected packages of the bark were distributed to Aldi stores across the US, with no illnesses or allergic reactions currently reported.

The product contained undeclared wheat and soy, meaning consumers who are allergic or have severe sensitivity to these ingredients risk “severe or life-threatening allergic reactions” if they consume the ice cream bar.
According to the FDA, Jeni’s initiated the recall after “Crunch topping from a different product was inadvertently introduced into this particular batch of Passion Fruit Dreamsicle Ice Cream Bars during manufacturing.” Crunch Topping contains wheat and soy, which are not on the product’s packaging.
However, no illnesses were reported at that time.
