The death toll in the blast near Mysuru Palace on Thursday, December 25 rose to two as a woman injured in the incident died on Friday.
According to officials, the balloon seller who died instantly in the incident has been identified as Salim from Uttar Pradesh.
Of the four injured, a woman was identified as Manjula, a native of Nanjangud taluk in Mysuru district.
He was admitted to KR Hospital late Thursday night and died on Friday, December 26.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team gathered information about the incident and collected necessary materials for investigation from the spot.
Speaking to reporters, state Home Minister G Parameshwara said there are no rules to monitor or check the activities of ordinary vendors and small item traders.
“I have told officials of my department that since tourists come in good numbers, we take further steps to see what can be done to prevent such incidents,” he said.
District in-charge minister HC Mahadevappa, who visited the spot, assured that the state government would bear the hospital expenses of the injured.
