What is Rashtra Prerna Sthal?
Rashtra Prerna Sthal is a historic national monument and a vast complex encapsulating history, and hence has national importance.
Built at a cost of approximately ₹230 crore, this memorial is spread over a vast area of 65 acres.
Noting prominent aspects of the complex, the memorial houses 65 feet tall bronze statues of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and BJP’s founding ideologues Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
The huge complex also houses a state-of-the-art museum with a lotus-shaped structure, which is spread over approximately 98 thousand square feet.
Additionally, the complex will also have an amphitheater with a seating capacity of 3,000 people. The Rashtra Prerna Sthal will also have a meditation hall, a yoga centre, a music block, helipad and a rally ground, which together will have space to accommodate more than 2 lakh people.
Rashtra Prerna Sthal was developed under the Basant Kunj scheme of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), and construction work began in 2022.

According to the government, the objective of the memorial is to honour, educate and publicize the contributions of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and BJP’s founding ideologues Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay to India’s political thought, nation-building and public life.
