The episode stars Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman (Chris Marshall) is contacted by an elderly man suffering from dementia (Ed Edmonson), who takes the detective’s photo to the police station and asks for help finding his sister.
Meanwhile, Constable Kelby Hartford (Dylan Llewellyn) is called to a more unusual emergency – helping a man trapped inside a snowman suit who has been glued to his head as a prank.
Posting on X after watching the episode, fans praised the show for balancing its lighter and more serious stories, with many saying that the special made them emotional.
One fan said, “This was such a beautiful, heartwarming, funny, emotional Christmas episode, I had tears in my eyes at one point.”

The Christmas special featured a special guest death in heaven Favorite Commissioner Selwyn Patterson attended their wedding.
“Best surprise ever?” a fan asked on X. “Ed Edmondson was incredible and had the best surprise ever with Selwyn!” Another wrote.
Lead star Marshall previously said about the Christmas special: “It’s a personal story for Humphrey. A man turns up on his doorstep with a photograph and we’re not sure why, but it quickly becomes a deeply touching story.
“I think it becomes especially personal because the ultimate reason why she has Humphrey’s picture — it’s a very Christmassy story that gets people excited.”
The BBC has confirmed a fourth series. beyond heaven Is in production. The air date has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to hit our screens in 2026.
