An 88 -year -old man wrote a note, when he illegally killed his wife over 60 years old, in a case a judge described as a “tragic case”.
Bristle crown court It was reported that William Huxworth was accused of killing his wife, Delia, but has been disqualified for the trial.
On Tuesday, A Jury Decided that Huxworth, who was not present in the court, “Is the accused acts against him”.
The gamblers were told by Judge William Hart, as they determined that the defendant was unfit, he did not need to decide whether he was guilty or not convicted of murder.
Judge Hart said after returning his discovery to the jury: “I am sure you share my view, and anyone will agree, that it’s a sad matter, whether you come from and how you see it.
“And, William and Delia’s friends and family are nothing but our sympathy and condolences.”
The court heard Bath On June 18, 2024.
Andrew Langdon KC, prosecuted, said, “Huxworth told those people that he was trying to help him and the firefighters to kill his wife.”
The police went to the couple’s house at the upper Lansdowne Mews in the city, where they found Mrs. Hakshworth, 85, “lifeless” on a bed, said Mr. Langdon.
The prosecutor told the jury that a note was found, apparently written by the defendant.
The note said: “It all became too much.
“Please forgive me and amazing heart.
“It seemed to be a decrease in all points. You are all very amazing. And so many types of neighbors.
“Sorry. Sorry. Will.”
The prosecutor said that a post -mortem examination later revealed that Mrs. Huxworth was smooth.
Fire Service Watch Manager Lee Harding told the jury on Monday how the defendant “told him about the wife of the 62 -year -old wife, which I like very much”.
He said that the defendant told him that his wife was “very sick”, saying: “I had to kill him and now it’s my turn.”
The jury heard that Mrs. Huxworth went to the hospital after falling after falling and after killing her head about three weeks before she died, but she was not contributed to her death.
A pathologist stated that he was judged to be four on the scale of fraud and was “generally quite independent”.
He had a history of bowel cancer, but there was no evidence of its recurring.
Judge Hart told the jury on Tuesday that he had decided that Huxworth was disqualified by Huxworth.
He said that, in many cases, this happens because a defendant is “very seriously psychiatrically unwell”, but he said: “This is not a lot with Sri Haxworth.”
The judge said that the defendant’s goodness has been “quite dramatically upset” in the last few months and he would decide what happens to him in a hearing on October 28, when he has a “clear picture”.
Ana Vigars Casey defended, telling the court that his client spent some time in custody after his first arrest, but recently living in the community on bail.
Ms. Vigars said: “She has spent some time spent in receiving the patient’s psychiatric care and support, but she has done during her family care and is living with her family.
“They are careful and also care for local general physicians and local psychiatric services.”
Haxworth was granted conditional bail to re -appeal on 28 October.
Detective Chief Inspector Tom Herbert said: “Our sympathy remains with Huxworth’s family and friends after this tragic case.
“Medical evidence revealed that although Delia had some recent health issues, including falls, they had no terminal disease.”
Mr. Herbert said: “It is important that, as Deelia’s unexpected death was not due to natural causes, there was a complete investigation with evidence for a jury that unanimously agreed that she was illegally killed by her husband.”
Avon and Summerset Police said, despite their initial comments, Mr. Haxworth has not given any account to the authorities about what happened.
