7 killed after speeding car hits crane in Patna, Bihar

Police said they have launched an investigation into the case.

Patna:

Seven people were killed and one injured in a collision between a car and a crane in Patna in Bihar state on Monday, police said. The accident occurred in Patna’s Ramlakhan Path area when an out-of-control car hit a crane of the Patna Metro Rail project.

Among the seven dead were a woman and a child. Four of them died on the spot and three others died on the way to Patna Central Hospital. Another person is being treated in hospital.

CCTV footage of the incident shows a speeding car hitting the crane before careening across the road. Video released by police showed bodies lying in pools of blood on the road.

Police said they have launched an investigation into the case.
