Srinagar, June 30, KDC: About 6000 8th pass students participated in the examination in June under the National Means-Kam-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS), through 102 centers in J&K through 29.
The examination was conducted by J&K Bose with active support of the School Education Department.
Examination approval assures 12,000 annual financial assistance to academicly promising students belonging to economically weaker sections for a period of four years.
The NMMS, which is a major plan of the central government, has played an important role in encouraging meritorious students to pursue their educational dreams over the years.
The central government has allocated a quota of 1068 seats for meritorious students of Jammu and Kashmir this year.
J&K Bose had made detailed arrangements to ensure complete transparency through multi-layer monitoring mechanisms through multi-layer monitoring mechanisms associated with CEO, HOIS, board officials and Infigilateers. (KDC)
