581 CAPF companies, jaamers, drones deployed to ensure safe Amarnath Yatra

The 38-day pilgrimage Amarnath Yatra for the holy cave pilgrimage site in Jammu and Kashmir has been secured with a huge deployment of 581 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) companies, jammers and drones.

The purpose of this comprehensive security system is to ensure the safe path of devotees during the Holy Yatra. It comes under the backdrop of the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, killing 26 tourists.

In addition, the top official sources mentioned that all roads leading to travel routes and national highways would be temporarily blocked to ensure maximum security during the coffee route.

In addition to these measures, a wide deployment will include road -opening parties (ROPs) to secure and clean the routes, for immediate response to the quick action teams (KTS), to the immediate response to the dangers,

The bomb disposal squad (BDS) will detect explosives and neutralize them, and the K9 units (especially trained sniper dogs) and drones will be used for air monitoring.

This arrangement will be on both Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the Amarnath Cave pilgrimage site in Jammu and Kashmir.

For the first time, officials said, during their movement, jaamers will be set up to protect the Sri Amarnathji Yatra convoy, which will be escorted by the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFS).

The annual Hindu pilgrimage to be held from July 3 to August 9 will be held for the first time this year in a short period of 38 days. This year’s journey is comparatively lower compared to the previous year’s 52-day pilgrimage.

Officials said that “preparations to ensure a safe, comfortable and well -coordinated journey are in full swing.”

“Regular high-level coordination meetings are being organized to review and streamline security, logistics and overall administration arrangements with Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, Divisional Administration, JK Police and other CAPF.”

Recently, in a review journey, Director General of Central Reserve Police Force, Gyanendra Pratap Singh, inspected major sites including Pahalgam, Jammu, Base Camp and Yatri Nivas, to oversee extensive measures for safety and convenience of Pilgars and ensure that there are comprehensive measures.

The Shri Amarnathji Yatra is an annual Hindu pilgrimage for the Holy Amarnath Cave Shrine, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, located at an altitude of about 3,888 meters in the Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir (JK). There is naturally formed ice Shivling in the cave, it is believed that Lord Shiva represents Shiva, and attracts millions of devotees every year.

The yatra is usually held during the month of Shravan (July to August) according to the Hindu calendar, under the supervision of Sri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and with coordinated support from security and civil administration. (AI)
