New Delhi, 1 October (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday established the establishment of 57 new Kandriya Vidyalayal “a historic step in expanding access to quality education”! ,
PM Modi said on X, “Establishment of 57 new Kandria Vidya has been approved by the cabinet. It is happy that KVS will include childishness, which will benefit many students along with the construction of many jobs.”
He further stated that “it is in line with our commitment to inclusive development, especially in asphalt districts, northeastern and other remote areas.”
On October 1, the Cabinet Committee on economic matters headed by the PM approved the inauguration of 57 new Kandia Vidya (KVS) under the civil sector across the country to facilitate the educational requirements of the wards of the increased number of employees of the central government.
“The total estimated requirement of funds for installation of 57 new KVS is Rs 5862.55 crore.
It is worthwhile to note that, as exemplary schools for NEP 2020, for the first time, these 57 kVs have been approved with the child, ie 3-year-old founder platform (pre-samri).
CCEA has approved the seven KV sponsored by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the remaining 50 by the State/UT officials.
In these 57 KVs, 20 are proposed to be opened in districts where no KV is currently present despite a significant number of central government employees.
In addition, 14 KVs are proposed in aspirational districts, four KV in LWE districts and five kV in NER/mountainous areas.
In the continuity of approval of 85 KVs given in December 2024, another 57 new KV has been approved by giving priority to the states which were not covered from March 2019.
