5 August marks a painful chapter in our recent history, says Altaf Bukhari

Srinagar, 5 August: His party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said on Tuesday that the constitutional changes made by the Center on August 5, 2019 left deep marks on the hearts and minds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

On the sixth anniversary of cancellation of articles 370 and 35A, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari wrote on his X handle: “5 August is a painful reminder of a dark moment in our recent history. In 2019, the constitutional changes of this day, sudden and breathing, left the hearts and minds of people in Jammu and Kashmiri.

He added, “The region has passed for a long time of violence and bloodshed. People have been extremely suffering in the last several decades, and therefore they can have long ignored for a long time for the aspirations of peace, justice and dignity -dignity, which can no longer be ignored.”

The X post said, “It is the right time for New Delhi to start a real, inclusive and meaningful dialogue with the people of Jammu and Kashmir to address their issues and grievances and move towards a permanent resolution.”
