New Delhi, 25 September (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired the 49th meeting of the pro-active regime and the ICT-Saksham Multi-Model Platform Pragati for the pro-active regime and timely implementation in the South Block.
The platform brings the center together and brings states to rapidly track, address obstacles and ensure time-bound delivery.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed eight important infrastructure projects in areas including mines, railway, water resources, industrial corridors and power. These projects are spread over 15 state and center areas, which are spread across the country, with a cumulative investment of more than Rs 65,000 crore. Recognized as important drivers of economic development and public welfare, projects were reviewed with clear deadlines, effective inter-agency coordination and quick solution of bottlenecks.
The Prime Minister reiterated that delay in execution implements a dual cost – often depriving citizens for an increase in project expenditure and even essential services and infrastructure. He urged the authorities at both central and state levels to adopt the result-oriented approach, translate opportunities for people in better quality of life, while for citizens, it should also carry forward the goals of ease of living life and ease of doing business for enterprises.
Prime Minister Modi stressed that states/UTs should regular reviews and to monitor the flagship projects should institutionalize the mechanism at their level, ensure and ensure effective resolution of bottlenecks. He urged all states/UTS to insist on improving competition, strengthening efficiency and promoting innovation in areas, urging to emphasize reforms, and emphasized that through these reforms, better preparations would be able to seize emerging opportunities rapidly.
