33-year-old American man arrested after allegedly beheading father and showing up on YouTube

A 32-year-old man in the United States accused of beheading his father and posting a gruesome video that appeared to show him holding up his head during a politically charged rant was arrested on Tuesday.according to CNN, the video circulated on YouTube for several hours before being removed. Justin Mohn was arrested hours after he allegedly beheaded his 68-year-old father, Michael Mohn, at his Pennsylvania home. The 33-year-old man is being held without bail and charged with first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and knowingly possessing an instrument of crime.

according to CNNThe police rushed to the scene after receiving a “call from the deceased.” Justin Mohn’s mother, Denise, called 911 after discovering her husband’s headless body in their home. She said she last returned home at 2 p.m. and when she returned, she discovered that her son and husband’s 2009 Toyota Corolla was missing, according to the report.

Police found a machete and a large kitchen knife in the bathtub. They placed Michael Maughan’s head in a plastic bag that was inside a cooking pot in a bedroom next to the first-floor bathroom. In the affidavit, police cited a video the 32-year-old man posted on YouTube. In the video, the man, who identifies himself as Justin Mohn, apparently reads a written statement and at one point holds up what appears to be a blood-stained head inside a clear plastic bag.

In the video, he said his father, who worked as a federal employee for more than 20 years, was a traitor to the country. “America is rotting from the inside out, like the far left, with woke mobs rampaging through once-thriving cities,” he said in the now-deleted video.

A YouTube spokesperson said it has strict policies prohibiting violent imagery and violent extremism. “This video was removed for violating our Violent Graphics Policy and Justin Moen’s channel was terminated in accordance with our Violent Extremism Policy. Our team is tracking closely to remove any re-uploaded videos,” they said .

The 32-year-old man was found “hours later” and taken into custody at Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania, more than 100 miles from his home. “He was armed but did not resist arrest,” police said. He was arraigned via video earlier Wednesday. The judge ordered him held without bail. His next hearing is scheduled for February 8.
