US military base near Syrian border attacked (representative)
Amman, Jordan:
Jordan said on Sunday that a drone strike that killed three U.S. troops did not occur within Jordanian territory, as Washington had earlier reported, but at a military base near the Syrian border.
Government spokesman Muhannad Mubaiddin said “the attack against U.S. forces did not take place in Jordan … it targeted the Tanf base in Syria,” where U.S. troops are deployed as part of the international anti-jihadist coalition.
