3 railway employees killed after being hit by local train near Mumbai during signaling work

In a tragic incident, three railway employees working on the tracks died on the spot after being hit by a local train near Mumbai. The accident occurred on the UP slow line between Vasai Road and Naigaon when they were repairing a signal problem.

He had gone to repair the damaged signal point on Monday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Vasu Mitra, chief signaling inspector at Bhayandar; Western Railway’s Electrical Signaling Maintainer Somnath Uttam Lambutre and Assistant Sachin Wankhade gave this information in a statement.

All the deceased were from the signaling department of Mumbai division.

“The incident occurred at 8.55 pm on Monday night between Vasai Road and Naigaon stations when the local was heading towards Churchgate,” a Government Railway Police (GRP) official was quoted as saying. news agency PTI,

After the incident, Western Railway has ordered an investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, the authorities have paid Rs 55,000 as immediate relief to the family members of the three deceased.
