3.99 lakh people are eligible to cast their votes in Jubilee Hills Bipol

Hyderabad, September 30 (IANS) Jubilee Hills Assembly Constitutions, where the by-election is likely to be held soon, there are 3,99,000 voters as per the final election role published on Tuesday.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy said that according to Rolls, revised in terms of July 1, 2025, the constituency has 2,07,382 male voters, 1,91,593 female voters and 25 third-ling voters.

The constituency has a sex ratio of 924 females per 1,000 men.

Voters include 6,106 voters in the 18–19 age group, 2,613 senior citizens and 1,891 persons (PWDs) with disability more than 80 years.

Among the PWD voters, 519 are visually impaired, 667 has locomotive disability, 311 speech or hearing is impaired and 722 are under other categories. There are 95 foreign voters.

The draft role released on 2 September had a total of 3,92,669 voters. Tally, with 6,976 new names and deletion of 663, Tally reached 3,98,982. With service voters, the total voter is now 3,99,000.

Polling for by-elections will be held in 407 polling stations in 139 places within the constituency. The average number of voters per polling station is 980 and polling stations are located in 139 buildings.

The CEO has said that voters can verify their names in the final electoral rolls and by the last day of nomination, if any, they can present their claims and objections.

The Election Commission rationalized polling stations last month, while integrated draft electoral roles were published on 2 September. Claims and objections were received by 17 September to publish the final role.

In the 2023 assembly elections, there were 3,85,287 voters in the constituency, thus, 3.49 percent of the votes have increased.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday appointed central observers to oversee the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar and by -elections in eight states including Telangana.

Vacancy in Jubilee Hills is due to the death of Bharat President Samithi (BRS) MLA Maganti Gopinath in June.

In the 2023 elections, he made a hat -trick by defeating former Indian cricket captain and Congress candidate Mohammad Azharuddin by 16,337 votes.

In a multi-round competition, Gopinath secured 80,549 votes, while Azharuddin voted for 64,212 votes.

BJP’s L. Deepak Reddy was third with 25,866 votes. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) also fielded his candidate under the chairmanship of Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owissi, but he finished fourth with only 7,848 votes.

The BRS has declared Gopinath’s wife Maganti Sunita as its candidate. The Congress and BJP have not yet announced their candidates.
