After being attacked in the neck, Aayush (11) and Ahaan (6) were stabbed multiple times with sharp objects on their back, chest and legs. Wounds to the legs suggested the children may have tried to escape but were knocked down by their attackers, according to the autopsy report.

According to police, Sajid, an acquaintance from the neighborhood who ran a barber shop opposite the victim’s residence, was responsible for the double murder. After the massacre, Sajid fled the scene accompanied by his brother Javed, who was allegedly waiting outside the house on his motorcycle.
