This amount was deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries under the Direct Benefit Transfer System of the Central Government.
Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹2,000 every four months or ₹6,000 annually as income support.
The Prime Minister had released the last 20th installment in August, which had benefited 9.8 crore farmers including 2.4 crore women. Cumulatively, over ₹3.9 lakh crore has been released PM-Kisan since its launch in 2019.
Modi also inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit during his Coimbatore visit. The event brought together farmers, researchers and agri-entrepreneurs to showcase innovations in organic inputs and small-scale processing as well as practices in natural, regenerative and chemical-free farming.
After the release, a large number of beneficiaries would like to check whether the latest ₹2,000 credit has reached their accounts or not. The PM-Kisan portal and mobile app usually provide real-time updates on beneficiary status and transfer dates, while banks send SMS alerts when payments are successfully deposited.
The Center has made e-KYC mandatory for future installments, emphasizing the need for Aadhaar linked bank accounts to ensure timely transfers and reduce leakages.
