The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar has organized a second National Public Offender in the premises of the District Court to speed up justice and reduce the case pendency.
The incident resolved many disputes on the spot, especially in family matters, insurance claims, bank recovery, traffic challans and civil matters.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Executive Chairman, Jammu -Kashmir Legal Services Authority, told reporters that he was personally monitoring the National Folk Adult.
He said, “I am personally monitoring the National Public Odds for a few days. We have also held some meetings to ensure good progress. We celebrate both sides to resolve their differences in a cordial manner. My special attention was to ensure that the real disputes were settled,” he said.
Under the chairmanship of the judges, Lok Edalat provided a platform for cases to settle disputes in a cordial manner through dialogue and reconciliation. Part of a nationwide effort under DLSA, the objective of the initiative is to offer fast and cost -effective justice by reducing the burden on regular courts.
Judicial officials, legal doctors and lawsuits actively participated, strengthening confidence in alternative dispute resolution. The successful settlement of cases gave immediate relief to the parties involved, which highlighted the effectiveness of folk adults in giving justice at the ground level.
In March, the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) organized the first National Folk Adult of 2025 in taluk, districts and high courts in 34 states and center areas.
The initiative promotes access to justice through Chief Justice, Conservator-in-Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna, and Executive Chairman Justice Bhushan Ramakrishna Gawai, Judge, Supreme Court, Supreme Court, Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanics.
According to the Legal Services Authority Act, 1987, and Public Removal Regulations, 2009, it offers a statutory platform for the cost-effective and cordial dispute resolution to provide the final award.
Prior to 2025, the National Folk Adults successfully resolved a wide range of controversies, in which pre-conversion and pending cases such as criminal compound crimes, traffic challans, bank recovery matters, motor accident claims and pending cases were examined, dishonest cases, labor disputes, marital disputes (except divorce), check issues and consumer cases.
