Miami:
A private plane lost an engine and crashed on a Florida highway on Friday, killing two people, authorities said.
The Bombardier Challenger 600 crashed on Interstate 75 near the small city of Naples at around 3:15 p.m. (GMT), the Federal Aviation Administration said on There were 5 people on board.
Two minutes before the plane was scheduled to land at Naples Municipal Airport, the pilot radioed air traffic control that he had lost both engines and requested an emergency landing, airport spokesman Robin King told AFP in a statement. “.

Three people survived the crash, King said. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both victims died as a result of the impact.

Images broadcast by local media showed the wreckage of the plane burning on the side of the highway, with black smoke billowing out.
The plane took off from the Ohio State University Airport, King said.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the accident.
