17-year-old stabbed in Derry, 5 teenagers arrested

Five teenagers have been arrested after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar area, an official said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Friday evening when the boy was returning home from school. The police control room received a call regarding the incident at 9.45 pm, police said.

A team was dispatched to the scene and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment for stab wounds, the official said.

“He told the police that when he came home, seven to eight boys beat him up and stabbed him. Our team later arrested five minors,” the official said.

During interrogation, the accused told police that they had an argument with the boy a few days ago, the official said.

“We have recovered the knife used in the crime. An FIR has been registered under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The matter is under further investigation,” the official said .

A case has been registered at the Patel Nagar police station.
