Chandigarh, Nov 13 (IANS) The statewide operation named ‘Operation Track Down’ launched by Haryana Police has achieved success with the arrest of 1,631 criminals, including 319 notorious and inter-state criminals. Police gave this information on Thursday.
The mission, led by Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh, is not only dismantling criminal networks but also demonstrating precise intelligence operations, sharp coordination and technical proficiency of the police.
Recent actions taken in Ambala, Palwal, Sirsa (Dabwali) and Yamunanagar reflect the overall success of this ongoing operation.
Ambala Police achieved a breakthrough by arresting four active members of an interstate Irani gang – kingpin Ghulam Abbas alias Rihana Razvi, Mohammad Khan, Akbar Mian Shaikh and Asadullah Khan alias Kalia.
The gang has been involved in more than 105 incidents of gold and diamond theft and fraud across India.
Police recovered four mobile phones, four SIM cards and two scooters used in these crimes.
Under ‘Operation Track Down’, Dabwali Police took prompt and decisive action against drug smugglers and arrested three inter-state smugglers with 256.13 grams of heroin worth approximately Rs 1.25 crore.
Investigation revealed that the arrested persons were already facing multiple cases of murder, arms violations and NDPS Act offenses in both Punjab and Haryana.
The District Criminal Branch-II in Yamunanagar achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two members of the notorious Kala Rana gang – Manish Singari, alias Mannu, and Tarun Singari, alias Tanu.
Both were wanted in several serious cases including attempt to murder, extortion, fraud and Arms Act violation. His arrest not only disrupted the gang’s operations but also highlighted the effectiveness of the district police in maintaining law and order.
Palwal police, in a joint operation with STF unit, arrested wanted criminal Chandrabhan from Narwana in Jind district. He was absconding in a murder case and had a reward of Rs 5,000 on his head.
The case is of February 2024, when a man named Dharambir was murdered and the main accused Ravindra and his wife Kanti were already arrested and sent to jail.
Terming the success of ‘Operation Track Down’ as a powerful example of the state police’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime, DGP Singh stressed that be it drug trafficking, murder, fraud, extortion or cyber crime, every criminal will be brought to justice.
He reiterated that this campaign will continue continuously until a crime free environment is established across the state.
