In a devastating incident, a teenage Taylor Swift fan has died after being involved in a fatal car crash on her way to a Taylor Swift concert in Australia. According to reports, 16-year-old Mieka Pokarier enjoyed Taylor Swift’s music with her mother and sister during a 17-hour performance trip on the Taylor Swift Eras tour. Unfortunately, their trip ended in a horrific car accident that left the teen dead and her siblings seriously injured.

A Queensland family’s dream trip to see a Taylor Swift concert turned tragic after a horrific car crash left one daughter dead and another in a coma, The Weekend Australian reports.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a two-car collision on Dunedoo Road in Barrymore on Thursday. Mieka Pokarier, 16, died at the scene, while her 10-year-old sister Freya Pokarier was airlifted to a Sydney hospital for treatment. The siblings were traveling with their mother, who was driving and Mieka in the passenger seat, when the accident occurred. The mother suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

The girls’ godmother wrote on the GoFundMe page: “We are heartbroken at the loss of one of her children (aged 16) and the 10-year-old has been taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition with brain injuries, Fighting for life with damaged pelvis. Also has a broken leg,” she wrote on the page. “It’s supposed to be a road trip of a lifetime, they’re going to concerts in Melbourne and Sydney.”

Just a few months ago, a 23-year-old fan died due to extreme heat at an Eras Tour concert in Rio de Janeiro. Brazilian fan Ana Clara Benevides collapsed at the event after waiting for hours in sweltering temperatures to get into the venue. She later died in hospital due to her condition.
