Howling winds and icy winter mornings are no match for a good puffer jacketThese high-tech coats use “baffles” of duck, goose or synthetic down to trap body heat and keep out the cold,

how i tested

I had a good window for testing when the UK experienced arctic winds and long periods of dry and very cold weather. This gave me the environment I needed to test my evaluation criteria – such as warmth, weight ratio and fit. The jackets were worn during day walks across the bitterly cold and windy Dartmoor, where high granite outcrops provided ample opportunity to test each jacket’s ability to withstand cold, wind, rain and general abrasion from the environment. As always, I also considered the price of each product to assess value for money.
