108-foot long incense sticks lit at Ayodhya temple as consecration rituals begin

The fragrance of the stick will reach up to 50 km away.

It has been prepared using cow dung, ghee, essence, flower extracts and herbs, which once burnt will last for about one and a half months.

Preparations for the inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya started from yesterday, in which 121 Brahmins also performed penance puja. Apart from this, the idol of Ramlala will be brought inside the temple today on January 17 and it will be placed in the sanctum sanctorum on January 18. Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said that the temple will be opened for the general public from January 23.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries will attend the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22. Thousands of VIP guests have also been invited by the Trust for the ceremony. The Trust has left no stone unturned in making elaborate arrangements to welcome and honor all the attendees. He has been presented with Ram Raj and other gifts. The Teerth Kshetra Trust will also distribute special Motichoor laddus made with desi ghee as prasad to the guests.
